Thanks for the props, Joanna... solid blog post. I was actually hired as John's affiliate manager after his original TS launch, and while JVGenie was part of my original "JV Attraction Formula" launch, it's actually a part of my friend, Chris Brisson's, company... but I do still highly recommend it.

As for getting JV partners on board, you can check out my blog for more info at AffiliateManagementInsider.com, but you just want to remember the "H.E.L.P. Mindset".

H (Hungry)- You want someone who is hungry to be a part of something BIG. Maybe it's someone who knows a ton about Internet marketing, but hasn't been able to make things work on their own. These guys/gals may want to join your team and take ownership in what you're doing.

E (Experienced)- It's not imperative that you hire someone with "affiliate management experience". If someone knows IM well, knows what affiliate programs and JVs are, then they probably already understand the little nuances that go into getting JV partners on board, and can improve their knowledge through additional on-the-job training.

L (Loyal)- If you give someone like this a chance, he/she will be LOYAL to you for giving them that shot, and will work their tail off for you. Even if they eventually "fly the coup" and start their own business (like I did), the ROI during the time they were part of your team should be sky high.

P (People-oriented)- Obviously, if you want someone who's willing to call people on the phone, make connections, meet people at events, etc... you want your affiliate manager to be a real PEOPLE person. Someone who is quick to smile and laugh, and knows how to handle difficult situations with grace.

Of course, you want to be as selective as possible when hiring an affiliate manager, but by following this guideline I just laid out, you could end up with a real superstar on your hands. :-)

Hope this helps. :-)

Take care,
Andy
