So there’s one week left until the 6th Annual Marketer’s Cruise and I remembered that last year, the first networking opportunity I had with this crew was the day before at the bank.

Yep – it seemed like everyone coming in from overseas was signing up for an American bank account at Bank of America of Fort Lauderdale. I didn’t realize this was possible, but highly recommend the location on Sunrise Blvd, since they were insanely helpful!

All the bank required was a US address, which I just set up with Mailbox Forwarding which allows you to view your mail virtually, or have it mailed to wherever you are.

You’ll automatically be issued a Visa Debit card that can be used like any credit card, and online access to your bank account. You can also link this with Paypal – what a beautiful thing!

I reviewed a few other mail forwarding systems, but this one came highly recommended – so check it out and sign up before making a trip to the bank when you arrive in town for the cruise.

One thing that is a bit inconvenient is you need to have a notary eventually sign off on your mail form, but you can do this at many post offices, town halls, or find someone on Craigslist while you’re here so make sure you make time to complete this portion, though you account will be active without it, at least for a while
